CORUM

Since the company's foundation in 1955 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, CORUM has taken pride in being a distinctively different and forward-thinking Swiss watch manufacturer.
The founders, Gaston Ries and his nephew René Bannwart, brought together their respective strengths as watchmaker and creative designer. They transformed their small private label watch factory into a watchmaking manufacture with its own brand: CORUM.
The talents of the two founders complemented one another perfectly and success soon followed: only one year later, in 1956, the first CORUM watches made their appearance on the market, widely acclaimed by peers and collectors alike. Their audacious originality and quality of workmanship helped the young brand to achieve the success it was hoping for and won CORUM its reputation as a trend-setting watchmaker.
CORUM's logo, a key, proved to be a very fitting symbol indeed: the key to the company's success over years, unlocking the hearts of thousands of watch collectors worldwide, who were enchanted by such imaginative timepieces.
After more than 40 years of passion for fine watchmaking and the creation of numerous one-of-a-kind and unprecedented models, CORUM felt the need for rejuvenation. That was exactly what occurred in January 2000 when the brand greeted the new century with the arrival of its new owner, SeverinWunderman. This internationally renowned veteran of the watch industry righted the helm of the family business, backed by his son Michael, who was appointed President of the company in 2004. Together, they have set out to explore and conquer whole new horizons, guided by the spirit of adventure and distinction on which the brand has built its success.
To further reinforce this winning attitude, Severin and Michael Wunderman have chosen to secure the services of an experienced stratedist with a rich professional background, Antine Calce. Appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2007, the latter keeps a firm hand on overall operations that accompany a watch product from design through to customer service. This approach is naturally in tune with the new motto for the CORUM key that was handed to the new CEO: "Unlock and Conquer".
